Job Title: Vice President, Business Development & Licensing

Job Description:
This role is directly reporting to the CEO. The Vice President of Business Development & Licensing is responsible for establishing new business partnerships, developing all types of contracts such as long-term supply agreements, technology evaluation and licensing, supporting existing business collaborations, managing distributor agreements, presenting the company at public companies’ C-level management team, and identifying new business opportunities that drive profitable revenue growth. The position will contribute towards business strategy and work with stakeholders in the company to develop and negotiate terms for new business agreements.


  1. Excellent experience in writing and executing commercial contracts
  2. Strong technical background in oncology, immunology, and pre-clinical development process of biopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals
  3. Over 10 years of experience in commercial management of business development and sales
  4. MUST have hand-on experience in driving projects from beginning to end according to established timelines
  5. MUST have strong skills in negotiation
  6. Capable of successfully working with stakeholders to resolve complex issues and develop solutions to advance the business development process
  7. Experience in identifying licensing opportunities, analyzing emerging technologies, conducting market research, and direct interactions with organizations and/or prospective customers/licensees.
  8. Ability to develop business case, assess business risks, and generate term sheet
  9. Prior commercial experience involving hematologic tissue, human primary cells, and immunology related assay development is preferred
  10. MUST be at PhD level in life science discipline
  11. Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic and changing environment

Job Title: Director, Business Development

Job Description:
The position of Director of Business Development is directly reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Business Development and responsible for market development in West Coast within the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology market segments. Primary responsibilities include expanding the company’s business relationship, developing and creating new business opportunities by promoting customized project capabilities, and further developing market opportunities.The Director of Business Development will actively seek to convert competitive business in the territory leading to increased revenues for the company.

In addition, the position will be responsible for 1) developing territorial business plan, market development strategy, and signing long-term agreement with current and new clients to achieve the company’s financial goals; 2) developing and maintaining adequate business clients in the pipeline to generate profitable revenue; 3) achieving financial goals of the company by converting competitive accounts; 4) working strategically with Product Marketing Team to build growth business plans around Strategic Accounts.

Leadership skills, deep technical background, and negotiation skills, specifically, the applicant should have:

  1. MUST have minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, market development, and business development previously working with 500 fortune companies.
  2. MUST have technical background in life sciences
  3. MUST have selling, negotiation skills, and decision making/problem solving skills
  4. Familiar with cell biology related products, stem cells, drug screening, cell-based assay, and flow cytometry
  5. MUST have presentation skills
  6. Precious training in sales or business development is preferred
  7. Experience in market research, writing contracts, and managing key accounts is preferred
  8. Ability to develop business case, assess business risks, and generate term sheet
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communications skills, organization and planning skills

MUST have advanced degree e.g. M.S.or Ph.D. in life science discipline.
