SYSTEMIC LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS LEUKOPAK
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is an autoimmune disorder where the person’s immune system attacks its own healthy tissue. In this type of lupus internal organs are involved. SLE is eight times more common in women than men.
Leukopaks are obtained by a donation process where blood is withdrawn from the donor via leukapheresis utilizing an aphresis machine such as the Spectra Optia. The donor’s white blood cells are selectively collected and the remaining blood is reinfused to the body.
PPA's fresh Systemic Lupus Erythematosus leukopaks are obtained by aphresis from donors with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. All of our donors are fully consented and IRB approved.
