Prostate cancer is the development of cancer in the gland in the male reproductive system and is the most common type of cancer in men. Most prostate cancers are slow growing. The cancer cells may spread from the prostate to other parts of the body, particularly the bones and lymph nodes. Treatment options include radiation therapy, hormone therapy, surgery to remove the prostate, freezing or heating the prostate tissue to kill the cancer cells, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
PPA can obtain diseased samples when they become available to our network of clinicians. Some disease types may have a long backorder depending on the frequency of the disease occurrence in the general population. All samples come from fully consented IRB approved collections.
